Wedding Journey - Leila & Nathan
Leila Pidgeon & Nathan Tierney’s Beautiful Wedding Journey
After over two years of engagement, Leila Pidgeon and Nathan Tierney tied the knot on May 3rd, 2024 at the stunning Bridge House Hotel in Tullamore, surrounded by love, family, and unforgettable memories.
From Childhood Friends to Soulmates
Leila and Nathan's story began long before their wedding day. Childhood friends who drifted apart in secondary school, they reconnected in December 2015 and officially began their relationship on February 21st, 2016. Their bond only grew stronger, leading to a heartwarming Valentine's Day proposal in 2021—one that took Leila completely by surprise and included the sweetest keepsake photo book and a hidden proposal.
A Day of Vintage Elegance
Inspired by Leila’s beloved granny and a shared admiration for Princess Diana, the couple chose a vintage/rustic theme for their wedding. Leila’s dress journey was deeply personal. After a few trial-and-error fittings postpartum, she discovered her dream princess-style gown at a wedding showcase in the very venue they would marry. A sparkling ballgown with thin straps and intricate beading, it was love at first sight. She later surprised Nathan with a second dress—an elegant, fitted gown with long sleeves and a sweeping train—for the evening celebration.
Nathan and his groomsmen looked sharp in suits from Guy Clothing, Tullamore, while the bridesmaids dazzled in sequin-topped dresses from Pamela Scott, Athlone. The ceremony took place at Church of the Assumption in Tullamore, with Fr. Fergal Cummins, who had also christened their daughter, delivering a heartfelt and lighthearted service.
The Dream Team
Leila’s bridal look was perfected by Sinead of Sin Makeup Studios, whose calming presence and expert touch made the morning unforgettable.
Her sister Nicole created her dream hairstyle—an emotional and special moment between siblings. Lauren Pyke styled the rest of the bridal party with ease and elegance.
Capturing every detail of the day was Best Photo and Video Production Ltd, with Mick and Lorenzo working from morning until night to document every moment.
Why the Bridge House Hotel?
For Leila, the Bridge House Hotel was always the dream. From shopping trips with her mum to celebrating milestones like their daughter's christening, it was the natural choice. With Colleen and Noel by their side every step of the way, the couple felt completely supported. The venue delivered impeccable service, delicious food, and an atmosphere of ease and joy.
A Sweet Honeymoon Close to Home
Rather than heading abroad, Leila and Nathan chose a quiet honeymoon in Skibbereen, Cork, staying at Cottages for Couples. It was the perfect way to unwind and reflect after the whirlwind of their big day, made even more meaningful by keeping their little one close.
Advice for Future Brides
Leila shares a valuable piece of wisdom: “Don’t stress. The day flies by, and things will always work out. Focus on what matters, and enjoy every second.”
