At the Bridge House Hotel, delivering a memorable 4-star experience means caring not only for our guests, but also for the world around us. From our family to yours, we are proud to take meaningful steps to reduce waste, protect our environment, and support our local community—helping to create a cleaner, greener future for all.
As part of our sustainability commitment, we carefully monitor our waste levels on a monthly basis and continuously look for ways to reduce what we use, reuse what we can, and recycle responsibly. Our approach to waste management is practical, thoughtful, and embedded into our daily operations.
What we’ve put in place so far:
- ✔️ A “Reduce, Reuse, Recycle” policy across the entire hotel
- ✔️ Digitalised invoices, significantly reducing paper use
- ✔️ Function sheets sent electronically, eliminating unnecessary printing
- ✔️ Digital display screens for meeting and event rooms, replacing printed signage
- ✔️ Close collaboration with suppliers to minimise packaging waste
- ✔️ Food waste weighing in our kitchens, helping our chefs identify opportunities to reduce waste and improve efficiency
- ✔️ Maximising recycling and composting wherever possible throughout the property
Waste management is a shared responsibility at the Bridge House Hotel. All new team members receive training on correct waste segregation as part of their induction, and our accommodation team ensures that waste from guest rooms is carefully separated and disposed of correctly every day.
We are also delighted to combine sustainability with community support through our towel reuse donation scheme. For every towel reused by our guests, a donation is made to Offaly Hospice, allowing our guests to contribute to a meaningful local cause while also helping to reduce water, energy, and laundry-related waste.
This is an ongoing journey, and there is much more to come. By working together—guests, staff, and suppliers—we can continue to make positive changes, big and small.
