For a taste of farming life
Run by the Kennedy family, you’ll find Tearaways Pet Farm and Activity Centre outside the town of Birr. Not only does it offer families the delights of the Pet Farm with its variety of animals, but there’s also a go-cart track for wanna-be young rally drivers, playground, football area, sandpits, Barrel train and Sledge run. And in the unlikely event of rain (!) the farm’s purpose-built 6,000 indoor activity centre will appeal to the most energetic young person. The play centre consists of a 2 level adventure play area, with a 4 lane wave slide, 2 tunnel slides, crawling tunnels, cargo nets, ball pits and a separate toddler area for the little ones. While the kids are busy in the activity centre, adults can choose from our extensive menu of Hot & Cold food from the coffee shop with a full view of the indoor play area.
Hilltop Farm Alpacas is set in the stillness of rolling fields through small hills near the centre of Ireland in Ballinagar, Co Offaly. Nearby is Croghan Hill, an extinct volcano dating back to the Ice Age. Visitors are invited to enjoy the silence of the surrounds while spending time with the alpacas. These fabulous animals are so quiet yet inquisitive, they will make you smile. The alpacas are so tranquil they will help improve your mood. You can walk one of our prize males, Bronson, who is a favourite with many visitors as he loves human attention and plays up to it. The alpacas fleece is so soft it feels like a fluffy cloud in your hand with a smooth silky texture. Hilltop Farm Alpacas have produced the raw fleece into alpaca yard and have had hats and scarves knitted from it. Come and see us and have a look at these majestic animals for yourself. Mollie Moo’s Pet Farm is a fantastic day out for families, groups and school tours. It's a great opportunity to interact with both farm animals and exotic animals e.g. Alpacas. Children are provided with a bag of food to feed the animals. It is both an educational and fun experience.

Animal interaction at it's best. See all the funny antics of our friendly animals, you will get to feed, pet and even hold some of them. Over 50 species of animals to see, an 1850s cottage, a nature walk and fairy trail, a large outdoor and indoor play area and a soft play toddler area, so there is something for everyone. Lots to do throughout the year: Summer season runs from March to Sept (please check our website for exact dates), Easter Egg Hunts Easter Sat, Sun and Mon at 3pm, Halloween Spooktastic Event during the mid term break, and foe the month of December the farm is transferred into Ireland's Lapland.
